The vision and underlying philosophy of English Department is that all students extend their proficiency in English, both orally and written, and learn about the English language in a global, multicultural context. Fundamental to this is the appreciation of all forms of literature throughout their college life. We, therefore, teach a wide selection of texts, including prose, plays, poetry collections and various non-fiction texts across all year groups.
We work as a team where each member enriches the department by their own contributions, strengths, and experience. It is with this sense of teamwork and willingness that we aim to face the challenges of teaching with confidence and enthusiasm and empower our students with the proficiency in this international language to prove that pen is mightier than the sword.
